Keeping with the ideals of our National Founders, Beta Pi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon is a social organization in the fullest sense of the word. That means more than parties.  We are a large chapter and we have the resources to tackle big projects and to stage big events.  However, friendships are one-on-one and many of our activities, especially meals, we take together so that, although there are many brothers, we all manage to interact with each other regularly.

Our activities and facilities are designed to promote the kinds of simple, ordinary, daily interaction among our members that, over the years, promotes the growth of life-long friendships.  For example, we assemble for dinner together in our house Mondays through Thursdays.  On Fridays we often go out to eat in groups.  Chapter meetings have been held on Wednesday evenings for over thirty years.  We have room for many brothers to study together at the House and to invite project group members from the wider student body over to work.  We sponsor teams (sometimes more than one) in most intramural sports.  Making extensive use of e-mail, we make sure that everyone is aware of what's going on no matter what his school or work schedule.

Our Social Quarters provide excellent space for a variety of activities including band parties (for which our facilities are arguably the best on campus), billiards, foozball, sand volleyball (best court of any house on campus), meals, meetings, and mass study sessions.  The maintenance and improvement of our facilities is also a social activity as brothers are always working on their rooms together or on the public spaces.

One of the distinguishing features of life in the TKE House is that, since the building and land are large and well-furnished,  almost all living and chapter activities take place at the House.  Brothers step out of their rooms and into their own yard and social quarters, not into the parking lot of an apartment complex with a drive ahead of them.  On a beautiful afternoon, there's always something going on outside.  And, when it's time to leave the party, we're already home.
